And there is!
Dh and I (along with Drake, in the nursery) have been attending Calvary Baptist Church about 8 months or so. We've taken the membership classes and today went up for membership. We were, of course, accepted.
But! Dh, while saved, has never been baptized. When he was young and wanted it, the church he attended felt he wasn't ready. So it got put off and put off, until here we are, finally getting it done. This is def a better late than never thing, lol. Note: we do NOT believe that baptism gives salvation in any way. It's only a sign of obedience to our Lord, who was Himself baptised. It is faith in Christ and accepting Him as Lord and Savior that brings salvation, through God's merciful Grace.
Phew! That said, Dh is def ready now, lol. It was actually he who chose Calvary for our first 'try out' when we were looking for a new church home. It has turned out to be a great decision, and we are so blessed and happy to be part of the family there. So my letter will be moved, and Dh will undergo the ritual of baptism and thereby become a member, too.
Tonight we have Family Movie Night at Calvary, showing Courageous. It's going to be a blast!
Next Sunday, tentatively, Dh will be baptised. What a full and amazing week!
